Bukan lautan hanya kolam susu
Kail dan jala cukup menghidupmu
Tiada badai tiada topan kau temui
Ikan dan udang menghampiri dirimu
Orang bilang tanah kita tanah surga
Tongkat kayu dan batu jadi tanaman
Orang bilang tanah kita tanah surga
Tongkah kayu dan batu jadi tanaman
Okay, first of all, is it 'Kolam Susu' or 'Kolam Susuk' did the Koes Plus imagine while writing one of their great songs, called 'Kolam Susu'? Because, there is literally 'Kolam Susuk' somewhere in East Nusa Tenggara. A site in Belu District, about 17 km away from the Principal City, Atambua, where -once upon a time- seven angels used to take a bath. Meanwhile, in 'Kolam Susu', there's only one angel who baths there : me. Right after a massage in a spa house. --mandi susu, maksudnyah, hahah!
But, I guess what they mean was both -Susu and Susuk, because it actually :
1. Is a naturally-shaped lake, with white soil, that glows beautifully under the sun. It's shimmering milky-white, reflecting the sunlight. So, it's Milk Lake.
2. Has loads of mosquitos (mosquito = susuk, in NTT language). They said, that King Lifao from Oecusse sent mosquitos to keep the seven angels awake at night, so that the Empire guards would not be able to do any harm. So, it's Susuk Lake.

The reason I'm writing this is to express my gratitude to my country, Indonesia. A country with 'heaven' land where wooden sticks can grow into useful plants. And a country with water surrounding where hooks and nets can make you a living. So rich, that even the fish and shrimps come toward you.
"Bukan lautan, hanya kolam susu.
Kail dan jala cukup menghidupimu."
"Orang bilang tanah kita tanah surga.
Tongkat kayu dan batu jadi tanaman."
One-third land and two-third ocean, a perfect combination!

Indonesian have been granted a very resourcefull land. Extremely rich and beautiful. People come all over the world just to see, to witness, to taste, even tried to conquer. Like a pretty lady, with her charm and exoctic look. That when she blinks, men are down desperatelly to their knees.
Seriously, we have got to take care of it. To keep our 'lady' safe, remain untouchable. Don't let anybody violate, rape, or dishonor her. Like they always say in expensive sections in malls, "You can stare at it, but you can not touch it!"
Ar-Rum : 41
Thank you Koes Plus, for the reminding!
