"There are 12 types of Young People," said Mr. Andoko Darta, an Expert Staff of The Ministry of Communication and Information.
He was there as one of the guess speakers, in "Flash Blogging, 4 Tahun Indonesia Kreatif" event, held by the Ministry. He then broke down the types into six only -because we were having Sholat Jumat, so he had to save some time.
1. The Creator
These are people who create things out of their gifted talents. Writers, Start Uppers, Choreographers, for examples. They make many things to be read, sold, enjoyed, admired.
2. The Caring
These people give their heart to everyone. Their true calling is to help people, to give support, and they are happy to do that. The ones who do the volunteer jobs are in this type.
3. Ordinary People
They -who want to get a job and work for a company, are ordinary people. They don't create, but they are willing to dedicate their time and skill for the companies they work for. "If you are in this category, please be ordinary people with extraordinary achievements, just like Mr. Jokowi," said Mr. Andoko.
4. The Hero
These people are meant to be a saver. Either to save their family, or even their country. The athletes are our national heroes, as well as the ones who earn money for their family.
5. The Intelect
They always want to learn. They graduate from a university and continue to master their degrees right away. Usually they become teachers or lecturers because they are called to pass on their skills and knowledge.
6. The Explorer
They go everywhere around the globe, to explore things that the mother earth gives. They love nature, and they want to be close to and take care of it.
So, which one are you?
I think I'm in the first one: The Creator. Not only because I do blogging, but I also create an empowering Whatsapp Group, called "Unconscious English Class". It is a class for adults (above 30 years old) to learn English.
I made this because there are people who need to speak English but they don't take any English class. I did some searching about that and I found out that some of the reasons are: they are too old and also ashamed to take a class, and also, they don't have time to sit in a class and study because they are busy.
This is why I created the group: to make people who are ashamed and busy able to learn English. They don't have to attend to a class, they can learn from anywhere in any comfortable time. I just give the materials for them to read and practice.
As the teacher, I'm concern about the grammar, of course, but I know that language is there to be spoken. So, I would appreciate everyone who speaks even the grammar is not too good. Here are some screen shots of the group, and these images are also posted in my social media accounts, so the world can see that we are learning as well as having fun.
This way, I can make the best use of the social media: to empower Indonesian citizen, to upgrade our skill -especially in English language, so that we can compete in this global era. As the Dirjen Pengolahan dan Penyedia Data of the Ministry of Communication and Information,
Mrs. Siti Meiningsih, said in this Flash Blogging event, "We all have the obligation to fill the social medias with positive and productive things."So, let's do it, guys. Be the socmed users who are full of responsibility about our country. Avoid spreading hoax and hate speech, go forward and succeed. Be the "Gen-Posting: Generation of Positive Thinking." Because we are never tired of loving our country.
